hal2008 Posted January 18, 2020 #511 Share Posted January 18, 2020 Good for you, Chris. Question: a) You mention about taking cruise shuttle to Walmart (in Florida?) - Are all crews allow to get off the ship in Florida if they want to or some are restricted? b) Time off at ports - As a shop or casion employee that relatively easy to get time off but how about room attendants? Do they get time off at all or do they work 7 days a week straight for the entire 35 week contract? Please feel free to not answer if RCL does not want you to. When it comes to going out in Florida, pretty much all crew can get off the ship, as long as we have our i-95 document. This is kind of life a visa. It's very likely that room attendants will be working when we are docked in port, but I imagine their schedule will allow them to go outside from time to time. Is that still something you think you would like to do? I think you could be a fantastic fit either for that or possibly as loyalty ambassador. It might even be a transition to your ultimate goal by making some videos about different cruise destinations that could be used in the marketing cruise destinations. Second question is about your status. In each of your jobs were you actually a crew member or a contractor working for somebody else but assigned to the ship. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think for the earlier jobs you would have been a contractor, especially as an art salesman as you did that for another cruise line. In the casino are you employed directly by Royal or by somebody else who runs the casino? Perhaps it might even be worth a video explaining the difference between the 2 roles. Roy Yes that is correct. Working in the shops and art gallery, I was a concessionaire. I was employed by Harding Retail as a shoppee, and Park West as an art dealer. Casino Royale is Royal Caribbean, and I am employed directly with the cruise line.

Do you have an opinion on tipping Currency ? I like to tip in 2.00 bills on top of my daily tipping, some people think the crew would think the bill is a joke ? what are your thoughts. Ive heard that you guys have an ATM that takes all types of currency??? it this a thing? maybe you can help with this discussion. thanks in advance. Tipping in US dollars is a lot more convenient for crew members, but I wouldn't suggest to tip with a $2 bill. Even working in the casino, I don't ever see this. No, we don't have an ATM that accepts all currency. Everything onboard the ship, even in the crew areas, is US dollars. 1
