isdoo Posted August 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2019 What is the current status of dress code in Luminea? I know it says smart casual - but decent shorts can be smart casual. What is acceptable for breakfast and dinner?

dkjretired Posted August 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2019 On board now in Luminae, smart casual every night, no shorts for dinner.
phoenix_dream Posted August 26, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2019 Many would disagree that any kind of shorts qualify as smart casual. Getting past that, there are no shorts in any dining room for dinner. At times, people will be let in with them, but technically not allowed. GastroGnome Posted August 26, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2019 We're just off Silhouette. (Dining in Luminae) One teen turned up several times in shorts (it was an Iceland cruise and below 15 degrees most days..) and a hoodie. Her family were reasonably dressed. It actually wasn't a nice position to put the staff in. I don't know if words were had but she certainly was not refused entry. In no conception could that have been considered "smart" shorts. Otherwise the standard of dress this cruise was fairly high. DD has a couple of very short outfits / slashed skirts etc. which she wears with plain back shorts underneath in case of wardrobe malfunction. If anyone noticed she had shorts on under that no-one said anything.... Those could, I think, be considered "smart" shorts. Or at least mainly invisible ones!
