holdon216 Posted September 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2019 Looking for a plan for next spring in Malta. Carnival has a 10 top sites tour. Has anyone done this recently? It would be our only Carnival tour for this cruise. We will be in port 7am-4pm.

JimmyTheSaint Posted September 14, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2019 How much time are you going to have at 10 sites? The ship will be docked a few minutes walk from the main shopping and sightseeing area of Valetta. There are taxis and HOHO buses parked at the dockside to take you on trips. Malta is a very easy island to do a DIY tour; probably a lot cheaper than a ship tour.
RxJenJen Posted January 5, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2020 If you don't mind private tours, we went with Karlito's Way in Malta when we were there on the Vista. We all agreed this was the best excursion from our entire trip.
Sauer-kraut Posted January 5, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2020 (edited) Malta is very easy, if you want to go to the Hypogeum make sure you book your timed ticket months in advance. There are very few tickets per day, as our own exhaled CO2 degrades the Neolithic site. Also easy to get to Blue Grotto, Hagar Quim, or Mdina on public bus. The town of Valletta is easily walkable, visit the cathedral, visit a sidewalk cafe and have a relaxing afternoon. The natural history museum in town is very interesting, and will give you a quick look at the cultures of Malta. Don't plan on a beach day, They are far to the North of the island.
