Transportation on St. Maarten

Read through this topic.  It has information on the local bus system....which is not your typical bus system that runs at regular intervals and has regular stops.  The bus system works well but not necessarily to Orient.  Taxi's would probably be your better option and/or a tour through the ship.

Has anyone been to St. Maarten and used the public bus system before? Looking for possible transportation to Orient beach and wondered how well that might work.

For the cost conscious or frugality minded on CC

Walk to the water taxi, then Q, then the cost of the water taxi, then another walk to Back Street, then faff around looking for a jinty shuttle, then go to the Orient Beach.

Then return faff about waiting at the busy roadside for a  jinty with a spare seat to arrive, then walk from Back Street to the Water Taxi, the Q, then walk from Water Taxi to the ship,

This method. actually equates to just about $5.00 pp less than catching a taxi directly from the cruise terminal and return
