I have been in several locations on deck 9 never had an issue

The smoking locations are 1 on the port side of Horizons  ..semi enclosed space

& the forward starboard corner on the pool deck

Horizons is on deck 15, the pool deck is 12. Oddly enough there have been reports that a room on 9 has a direct pipeline to the Horizons smoking area through the ducting system.

This is what I heard. So I’m worried about a cabin I booked. 9005. Or I have a choice of 9053

If that is a serious worry, and you sincerely believe that you might be impacted by smoking areas which are from 50 to 80 feet above your head (and in the case of Horizons, on the opposite side of the ship), you may want to rethink travelling on a public conveyance.

Charter, anyone??  😜

You will not be affected by the smoking area by the pool. I don't know about this pipeline but it will probably be situated portside (where Cigar room is) and not starboard (where you are).

9005 is not an obstructed cabin but your forward (left) view from the balcony will be affected by the structure of the ship (see attached photo). On this point, 9053 is a better choice. 9053 is close from the stairway (usually calm) but not from the noisy area 9059/9061 where people chat by the elevators.

Is there smoking in the Riviera casino?

No  smoking  anywhere

except 2 locations  1 outdoor  on pool deck in the forward starboard quarter  area

1 indoor in Horizons on port side  in the mostly enclosed room at the entrance

Thanks, we’ve only been on the Regatta before, but it was in 2013, and I thought I remembered the casino was smoke-free.  Some other cruise lines are smoke-free except for two small areas, but in addition the casino has always allowed smoking.

Glad to hear Oceania’s casinos are still nonsmoking so I can enjoy playing the slots.

The designated areas have not changed  from 2004  when we started sailing with O

What did change is on the R ships  they now have enclosed the space in Horizons image.thumb.png.2a5d33e1b4f9a61e89eae6a98e216d8d.png

Hi LHT28!

My husband enjoys his cigars with a good

brandy! I was aware I believe by Waves bar if I am correct on starboard side is an area for cigars? I didn’t know about Horizons I wonder how good the AC is?
Thanks. Will be on Riviera

I believe Lyn and I are in agreement in what we were saying. I just wanted you to be sure to know that cigars are not allowed in Horizons. No confusion here on my part.

FWIW, you'll usually get better answers here from those that cruise Oceania multiple times a year than from a customer service agent in Wichita or wherever.

I called my Oceania TA in Miami. I also agree with you that better answers are on CC. This is our first cruises 2 of them on Riviera This March and in April. Not new to the boards and appreciate. Customer service agents are not the answer!

Have a great day

Denise😊
