cruzin Phillis Posted October 17, 2019 Author #28 Share Posted October 17, 2019 Day 2 and 1st sea Day and elegant evening Morning funnel casino area After waking up super early to press clothes for today and this evening, I got my first drink of the cheers package... mimosa! Got about 2 to be exact. We went to breakfast around 930, then headed to the water park for some fun. Hubby went to grab a seat pool side as they were showing the Texan football game on the big screen. Yes...they also showed Dallas and the Sunday night game as well. Monday night and Thursday was shown in the sports bar on 4. My oldest son decided that he was done at the water park. We grabbed a burger and my first beer of the cruise. The Thirsty frog red. Then dropped him off to camp. His choice. I am not the type to leave him there or bring him against his will. He said he wanted to go so we went. I also stopped in to bookville to let my little one burn some energy .
cruzin Phillis Posted October 17, 2019 Author #29 Share Posted October 17, 2019 we just walked and leisurely enjoyed the day however I knew we were in for a rough night as the clouds began to form After 2 hours of bingo and sipping a margarita from the iguana bar, I pick my son up from camp. He wanted a shake so we headed to The Shake spot where I discovered they no longer have the blue velvet cake!!!! I was heart broken. So I collected myself and got my son his shake then headed back to the room to get ready for this evening. Take a moment to reminisce about that cake....miss you man

CruisingViper Posted October 17, 2019 #33 Share Posted October 17, 2019 how crowded was the lido deck pool during the day? it seems smaller than other ships, but I guess the water works on deck 12 help split up the crowd of kids?
cruzin Phillis Posted October 17, 2019 Author #34 Share Posted October 17, 2019 Just like that it was evening time and I thought to myself that this cruise is moving way too fast!!! I strongly recommend requesting a table if you are YTD through the hub app first and waiting in your room or another area until your table is assigned. You will get an alert that will tell you you table number and what deck to go to. It will save you time and ladies, your feet with thank you. It took us 30 minutes to get a table because of the elegant evening. This was the only time we had to wait longer than 5 min. I put in the request and we went to take pictures. Once we were done with pictures. We relaxed on deck 3 and 10 minutes later our table was ready. We would be on deck 4 tonight close to the aft windows. Me and my 3 men in thier bow ties. Forgive my children, they were restless Side note: YTD dining room is back of ship on decks 3 and 4. The checkin for a table is deck 5 by the pixel studio. That is why I recommend utilizing the app. Saves time and unnecessary walking. The funnel dressed for this evening: Here is the menu for tonight I got the traditional lobster but I also got the lamb shanks from the Steakhouse selections. Those chops were ssssoooooo worth the 20 upcharge!!!! It come with 5 chops. I was almost done when I remembered to take pics. Sorry The wait staff danced and singed, I had my 3 nightly prosecco. It was time for a beer and for the children to go down. My MIL and her BFF went to the comedy club. Hubby went to check scores and to see the movie Joker. Later than night we would encounter a bad storm. It rained and thunder all night. I was very impressed that the ship held her own. The rocking was not bad at all. I could hear the waves breaking against the bow but she was a champ. People we encountered the next didn't even know it had rain. My young one decided that he was done with sleep at 5am. Me and the hubby escorted him around the ship. By that time the storms had died down. We ended up by the pizza place. I got me a pepperoni while we sat and enjoyed the quiet of the ship.

The normal crowd you would expect given this pool deck is a little bit bigger and there is seating on deck 11 and 12. Aslo the football games were on so that consume most of the day pool side. The 2nd sea day rained all day so inside public areas were crowded. They had to move all the out door activities to the lobby on 3. The adults area span the entire front side of deck 14. There are a lot of Public seating areas that people were moving about the ship. There were not alot of children on this sailing. The counselor said his age group only had 12 kids total that were registered.

Forgot to mention there is alot of shaded seats along the windows and of course seating at the bars. The buffet area is larger than other ships.

Hey Amanda, we are on the 11/16 sailing so I will try and get you all the updated paperwork prior to your sailing! :) Its awesome that someone, like Ms Phyllis, takes the time for the details - it helps others who are soon to vacation, and it helps those that have already come and gone remember!

Lot's of good info so far! Now, did I see that the laundry was free? That's good news if it is true. We learned on our first cruise (2010) that we overpacked, so we are planning on going lighter this time, and using the shipboard laundry.

Be prepared for people to crowd it. I found that it was best to press clothes and wash around 4 or 5 am. The only issue i ran into is people not taking their clothes out of the washer or dryer. The hub app has the other locations. I know there is another on deck 7 but it cost 2.50 to wash and 2.50 to dry. Guest services can give you quarters if you use those. That should be perfect for us. If it is busy, I won't mind paying $5 a load to wash/dry.
cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #45 Share Posted October 18, 2019 (edited) Day 3, 2nd sea day...Monday night football Your daily morning funnel-Deck 3 After returning to the room for a brief morning nap. We went to eat breakfast. This would be the kind of day we would have: It rained the whole day. Everyone abandoned the pool side, well except for those swimming. The inside public areas were crowded. We found a nice spot mid of the buffet area and posted there for the day. Today felt like one of those rainy days where you didn't want to do anything but sleep and eat. And that is what I did. It was the best rainy day ever!!! I decided to dine at the shack today. Last time i had the seafood platter consisting of shrimp, clams, oysters, and fries. It cost $10. Today, I just got the shrimp basket which was 6.00. They give you a pager and buzz you when it's ready. Took about 10 minutes. You get about 10 shrimp and fries. They are very delicious. So much that what you see is what was left when I return with my drink. Apparently, my hubby and son thought it was delicious too. So... I ordered another for myself and sat on the other side. For dessert was a cake that made up for them not having my blue velvet and it was in the buffet area: Can you guess??? After some time of playing domnioes, cards, and skip bo, the hubby went to put our young one down for a nap and I sat at the bar on deck 3, ordered a kiss on the lips, Tiramisu martini, and pirates punch and listened to Allure on Strings play. These ladies are phenomenal. They played on most nights and just this once during the day. They played everything from, rock, r&b, country, classical, and pop. The day had pass and it a therapeutic, lazy, restful day on board. Now it was time to dine. Edited October 18, 2019 by cruzin Phillis

cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #48 Share Posted October 18, 2019 I sent the request for a table of seven through the app. Make sure you are linked with your group. It makes it easier to place a request. You can select all or choose who will dine that evening. The app is fantastic!!! No more lines!!! We would be dining on deck 4. I like dining on the second floor alot!!! Here is tonight menu!!! (I want to apologize for only taking 1 photo. This was the night where I had to play hid and seek for a changing table. I missed most of dinner) I did order the frog legs After dinner, I let hubby sit with the kids while I try out my luck in the casino. Played 40, got back 50. I'll take it. Then off to bed. Apparently being lazy is hard work 😊 Up next, Day 4- Jamaica
cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #49 Share Posted October 18, 2019 Foot note. I did pre purchase the premium internet package. The cost was 101.00. They do have a pay as you go but it cost 25 per day for 24 hrs. I learned from my SIL last cruise not to under estimate needing the internet. She ended up using the pay as you go every day of the cruise. It cost her big time. Oldest son is High functioning and having his tablet makes it a lot easier to get through dinners. I often used the plan myself and found the speed to be quite fast. I was also able to use Google duo and Facebook messenger to call family back home. More like make them jealous.
