Bliss vs Joy

Hi all! I will be going on one of these ships in 2021 for my mother's 60th birthday.  I've been doing some preliminary research, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what the main differences are.  They seem like they're as similar as Getaway to Breakaway, and those two seem identical to me, just with different shows.  Am I right?  If not, what's the main differences between the two?  And will one have gone through dry-dock by 2021?  Thanks!

Your analogy is correct. They are sister ships and  your experience would be very similar on both. Sounds like an Alaska cruise,,, if so, pick one that goes to Glacier Bay.

The Bliss was launched in 2018, so it is new and won't be doing a dry dock before your cruise.

The Joy was launched in 2017, but just came out of a major dry dock in 2019 and won't be going through another before your cruise.

The links below provide my live posts from the Bliss in 2018 and Joy in 2019.

On Bliss but not Joy:

Thermal Spa

Margaritavilla (flat rate specialty restaurant)

Los Lobos (a la carte specialty restaurant)

Coco's (desserts, a la carte)

Studio cabins/Studio Lounge

Current shows: Jersey Boys and Six

On Joy but not Bliss:

Galaxy Pavilion (virtual reality games)

American Diner (a la carte specialty restaurant)

A second Starbucks

Pool-sized hot tub in Spice H2O

Concierge cabins

Current shows: Footloose and Elements

I think those are the major differences although there are probably more.
