Can anyone comment on the recent Britannia Re-fit? What areas have had an update? Is it for the better?  Have the cabins been refurbished? Not been on Britannia before looking forward to cruise in April.

No personal experience, but take a look at this...

Not sure about cabins but we were on her last August and felt generally Brittania was looking in really good condition.  We have been on ships before due for refit and they have looked really tired. However Brittania felt surprisingly fresh - so even if they haven't done much in the cabins.  I'm don't think you will be disappointed.  I found this video on you tube which may interest you

On our cruise before the refit, our steward explained that the carpet, mattresses and soft furnishing would all be replaced. He also commented that he had to go a deep clean once the furniture was all back in.

Thanks for that - that sounds good. Off on Brittania 3rd January and starting to get excited now.

Has the mid-ship staircase, or rather lack of it, issue been fixed?

No.  Not sure P&O actually said it would be changed.

The other thing of note is the installation of frosted glass canopies across the top of the A and B deck cabins at the back.  Depends who you talk to at P&O but some say this is to increase the privacy of the balconies from the bar above, others that it's an attempt to reduce the soot getting on said balconies.   It gets on the glass instead.  One thing for sure is that it will reduce the direct sun these balconies  get which will probably be welcomed by as many as will complain about it.  These do not appear to have been publicised by P&O at all with at least 1 person claiming to have booked a suite only 3 weeks ago because of the balcony and sun and no one from P&O mentioned it at all during the  booking process.
