Bringing soda on board (Fort Lauderdale) please reply

We will be sailing on the Magic this weekend out of Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale). Just wondering how picky and strict this port is about bringing on soda. Do they actually count the cans? I wanted to also bring a few 16oz cans of energy drinks so I may go over the 12 cans per person. Will that be allowed? And one last question. My cooler is 12x14. Will that be an issue? Anyone that has sailed out of this port please reply 🙂

I was on the Magic last month and they didn’t even check our sodas or wine in our carry ons! Mine hubbies or my adult children! We didn’t get on at the same so 

don’t know if lucky or just they don’t care!

It is NOT a port issue. It is a cruise line policy issue. The port doesn't care what you bring on, as long as it is safe and legal. The cruise line tells the employees, which are shore based cruise line employees, what to stop at security. Not the port.

No glass bottles, cans are fine.  There is a limit, it's either a 6 or 12 pack, can't remember.  It's on the Carnival website though.
