Port Everglades

I have an upcoming cruise with HAL that departs out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. I have never used this port and have a few questions about embarkation.

  • I plan to take Uber to the cruise terminal, and my Airbnb is about 5 miles from the port. How long should the drive take on a Sunday morning?
  • Is there a security check when you enter the port area?
  • Is there a place to directly drop off my luggage at the terminal?

Thanks for the help!

Without knowing where your Airbnb is, hard to answer your question. But the lines at the entrances to ports can be a little slow during the peak cruising season. And the port is huge, so it will depend on where your ship is docked, and where you are coming from. Say 20-40 minutes.

Yes, it is an ID check at the entrances.

Yes, there is a place to drop off luggage at the Terminal. Look for the porters.
