WanderingTheWorld Posted November 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2019 I have an upcoming cruise with HAL that departs out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. I have never used this port and have a few questions about embarkation. I plan to take Uber to the cruise terminal, and my Airbnb is about 5 miles from the port. How long should the drive take on a Sunday morning? Is there a security check when you enter the port area? Is there a place to directly drop off my luggage at the terminal? Thanks for the help! CruiserBruce Posted November 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2019 Without knowing where your Airbnb is, hard to answer your question. But the lines at the entrances to ports can be a little slow during the peak cruising season. And the port is huge, so it will depend on where your ship is docked, and where you are coming from. Say 20-40 minutes. Yes, it is an ID check at the entrances. Yes, there is a place to drop off luggage at the Terminal. Look for the porters.
capriccio Posted November 6, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2019 All you need to know about the port itself including security, handling luggage, etc. can be found on the official website: www.porteverglades.net.
