melody hounddog Posted November 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2019 We have booked a penthouse suite for the first time and are told that we can order in from any specialty restaurant. How does that work exactly? Can it be any specialty restaurant on any night of the cruise? I would love to hear your experiences and photos if anyone has some. Thanks in advance! Jay23 Posted November 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2019 (edited) I believe it is one restaurant at a time. but you can chose any night; you just have to ask your butler to arrange it. I is vey nice to have your dinner course by course. Your butler will do whatever you ask him: course by course or all at once. Rare pinotlover Posted November 9, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2019 (edited) The actual answer is “ one kitchen “ at a time, not one restaurant at a time. On both the O ships and the R ships ( you chose not to stipulate which you will be on), the Polo Grill and Toscana share a kitchen. Therefore, a couple can order from either Restaurant’s menu or even mix and match from the two. If however, on an O ship with the Red Ginger and Jacques both cruisers have to order from those menus singularly if either venu is chosen. The Sirena is an R ship with Tuscan Steak and RG sharing a kitchen, so same as other R ships. Attempt to check with your Butler on the morning you wish to dine en suite. Each Butler takes care of 16 Suites. If 10+ of those have already requested en-suite for that evening you may want to choose a different evening for both your and his sake. Conversely, it should be noted that in a "name Suite" i.e an Oceania, Vista, or Owners Suite, we have never had an issue mixing restaurants, courses, or meals from ANY venue including Waves, The Terrace and/or the Grand Dining Room. On the Mainstream Lines we were used to pre-tipping in order to obtain such service. On Oceania, this has never been necessary.
bbwex Posted November 16, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2019 We only opted to dine in one night, and though our butler had tried to do many things for us, we had been very non-demanding. When we did order, we did get some things from Polo and a couple of items from Red Ginger. Though they are two different kitchens, we were not told we could not do it, and our butler did not say anything. Perhaps he was not busy that night.
