Has anyone been to Almaplena lately?

Just wondering about your experience. We weren't able to book Maya Chan that day so are going to Almaplena in February instead. If anyone has photos, that would be awesome.  Thanks!

We were there about two weeks ago and we had a wonderful time.  The staff was welcoming and attentive, the food was fine and the water great. You need to remember this is in the middle of nowhere and low key.  If you are looking for a place to chill, have a drink and enjoy the day in the water this is it.  If you are looking for something upscale this is not for you.   I think there were ten people on the whole beach!

Thanks, that looks fantastic. There are six of us going and it's exactly what we're looking for. We'll be at Mr. Sancho's in Cozumel the previous day, so we'll get a little of both.

180 from Sanchos.  But a good way to mix up beaches.

Thanks! I suspect it might be a bit of a letdown from Maya Chan, since I loved the floating chairs there, but the photos still look great.
