New Years Eve on the Ship

I hope someone might have an idea on Formal nights during a New Years Eve Cruise.  We are on a 5 day cruise and New Years Eve falls on a port day. With many cruises under my belt I never remember a Formal night on a port day. Do you think they would make an exception for New Years Eve?

We were on the Infinity last NewYears Eve.   The 31st was embarkation day. & I would say at least 80% of the people dressed up for New Year’s Eve.  It was not their Chic night either.  There were parties everywhere, it was great.  They gave out party favours hats etc at dinner.

We were on Infinity for Dec 31 2016 which was a port day and an Evening Chic night.
