Zippeedee Posted December 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2019 I tried to search for this because I'm sure it has been asked before, but couldn't find an answer. In the US, if you pay your final payment before the actual final payment due date, can you still cancel and rebook for a better price or are you locked in because you already paid in full? Sauer-kraut Posted December 9, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Cancel and rebook, but make sure you are getting all the perks you are entitled to. With a new booking you lose everything you had.
gizfish Posted December 9, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Yes, you can still cancel etc. "Final payment" refers to the date it is due, not the date it is done.
Paul Bogle Posted December 9, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Before the final payment date you have the right to cancel and receive a full refund. On or after the final payment date you are in the penalty phase where you are entitled to less than a full refund.
Zippeedee Posted December 9, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted December 9, 2019 Thanks everyone. I have already rebooked this cruise four times and shouldn't get my hopes up for a final price drop, but we'll see. I just didn't want to pay it in full if that locked me out of one more drop.
