Bigman426 Posted December 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2019 I am aware of the bidding system for upgrading cabins on NCL and how it works, but has anyone ever successfully upgraded their cabin at the departure port or on board post departure? From what I gather, the days of free upgrades are more or less over. Has anyone had any success and if so, when was the upgrade given and how much did it cost? gizfish Posted December 17, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2019 Generally all cruises have a sign saying they are sold out. An upgrade at the pier, paid or otherwise is pretty much unheard of.
smplybcause Posted December 18, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2019 You won't get an upgrade. They often don't even have a spare cabin available if something goes horribly wrong with someone's cabin.

It is the permanent sign at guest services. They don’t need 4000 staying in line.
