Is Nevis a must do?

We (4 adults) will be sailing on the Celebrity Summit on 1/15/20 arriving in St. Kitts at 9:00 am / departing at 6:00 pm. We are debating between a 4 hour group tour of both islands followed by a few hours at the beach or renting a car to tour St. Kitts followed by beach time at the Marriott.  The second option is cheaper and allows for more time at the beach, but we would miss out on seeing Nevis.  Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

The big issue is time. I would only do one island, either St Kitts or Nevis. It is a 45 min ferry ride each way with the passenger ferry over to Nevis. The ferry operators do a good job but in my opinion they have not taken advantage of the increased tourist arrivals that would visit Nevis if they would arrange their schedules to accommodate them. You will only have about 4 hours at most on Nevis if you take the passenger ferry. The other options for a visit to Nevis would involve a taxi and then a water taxi to Nevis. The final option would be the car ferry but that can get really messy if they are not on time.

Do St Kitts (see the Island) and Marriott first, then Sunshine's on Nevis next trip, as the "killer bees" may inacpacate you.

You don't have enough time to see both islands well-- I personally would just choose one or the other and you will feel less rushed and enjoy it more. With a 45 minute ferry ride each way Nevis doesn't make for a very relaxing day- we've done it once on a cruise. Personally I would just go enjoy St Kitts and have some nice time at the beach.
