NCL Casino Reward?

Anybody know what this is?

My last cruise disembarked on December 8.  I was looking at my NCL account today and I noticed that I have a $200 “Casino Reward” that is valid from December 10 to March 1.  It is listed under “My Coupons and Credits”.  I have received no communication about this and am wondering 1) why I got it and 2) what can it be used for.

I called CAS to ask for my son.   (If you call, you might be told something else, but she seemed to know what she was talking about!)   I was told it can be applied against the cruise price you see at NCL but it isn't for comped or CAS discounted cruises.  If you have a balance due for a cruise you have booked (not a comped cruise), you can try and apply it to that cruise by logging in to make a payment.   As I understand it, it is somewhat like a CruiseNext certificate but has to be used by the date it shows it expires.

It is strange that they haven't sent anyone an email or something.  My DS had a 325 Casino Reward showing so we did call CAS and ask some questions.

Thanks for the info!  Unfortunately, this will be of no use to me since I usually have comped cruises through land-based casinos.

If you plan to book a certificate cruise from your local casino, it wouldn't hurt just to ask if you can use the credit towards port fees.   From what I was told, it wouldn't work, but you never know and it doesn't hurt to ask.  (My DS wasn't ready to book).

The "Casino Reward" is offered to those who have gambled some, but not enough to qualify for a full comp. As mentioned above, it can be applied to future cruises within a certain date range, but obviously cannot be used on a fully comped cruise as NCL isn't going to pay your port fees, taxes, or DSC for you.

Don't think this is always the case. I always get a full comp. cruise and I have a $375 "Casino Reward" showing.

Just an update on this topic, I booked a cruise 2 weeks ago for August 9th 2020 then today that I had a Casino reward for $325 that expired on 3/1/20 like everyone else.  I call NCL and they took the $325 off the cost of my owed balance for the cruise.

That's great!

Was it a cruise you had booked originally through CAS or you just got to apply the credit to one booked elsewhere?

I booked my cruise through my warehouse club travel service, when I noticed I had the reward I called them and they contacted NCL who then applied the reward.

I love that!  You got the special deal from the travel service and then got to apply the CAS credit😎
