Nassau RCCL Port Stop 2 p.m. to Midnight - Excursion Thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Please do not recommend that I post on the Nassau board, because it barely gets traffic.

I know there are a bunch of us who are realizing that their RCCL Nassau stop from 2 p.m. to midnight is not ideal.  The typical water related activities tend to end at 5 p.m., and, so far, the only excursions posted on the Royal Caribbean site are all Atlantis related, ranging in price from $59 to $325 per adult.   We have been to Atlantis, and for whatever reason, things really do close down early, so we are not interested in any of these excursions.

I really would like for us to get off of the ship and spend some time in Nassau, but other than hanging at a casino (also not interested), I feel like there is an annoying time limit that will be hanging over us.  The resort day passes seem to end at 5 p.m., with the exception of Breezes that ends at 6 p.m..  Breezes also offers a "Twilight Pass" from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m., which, although pricey,  might not be a bad idea for the older teens/young 20somethings in our family.  But most of the Breezes reviews aren't great.

If anyone reading this is from the Bahamas, and has family or friends who run a touristy establishment, let them know that they have the opportunity to set up some activities for all of these 2 p.m. to midnight cruise passengers.

I love that Zoo. Astrada Gardens. Been there several times. Check out their website, they have a Flamingo Parade and a Parrot feeding scheduled for no extra money. When you are through, take a short (my perspective of short) walk down to the Fish Fry for some local food, and cold beer and frozen drinks. You can take the #2 bus by McDonald’s for $2.50 per person (last year’s price) to get there, and depending when you leave, you can take the bus back from the Fish Fry for the same. Or you can walk back to the ship if you wish. It’s about a 30 minute walk.  I don’t know if the buses run after dark.
