fabulousmo Posted January 30, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2020 Hello! Sailing Eclipse on May 17, 2020 for 7 nights to Alaska and back. First time in Aqua class. Is there a priority embarkation lounge in the Vancouver cruise port? We will be arriving quite early on cruising day and wondering if there's a place for us to hang out until we are able to board. Thanks in advance, everyone!
steve ch Posted January 30, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2020 Sadly, no. Priority Boarding simply means that you get to stand in the same line as concierge, elite etc. Not much of an advantage.
Phxazzcruisers Posted January 30, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2020 no there is not. I would try not to arrive until about 11:00 or so, when you can board the ship.
Rare Jim_Iain Posted January 30, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2020 If arriving really early I would drop off luggage and then go back outside and walk down to Gas Town and have a look around and a coffee then come back closer to boarding time (about 11-11:30).
Rare ghstudio Posted January 30, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2020 In our experience, there is no separate check in line for aqua passengers...in fact the line you wind up in may be longer than the line for the "great unwashed" who aren't even in concierge class. (joking). Once you get you get checked in, if you can't go directly to the ship, you will sit in the same room as everyone else...just in a different section. Not saying that aqua isn't a good choice (we often sail aqua), but some of the "perks" are just smoke and mirrors. The priority embarkation lounge just happens to be one of them. The Celebrity website doesn't claim that there is a priority embarkation lounge for AquaClass guests... It does list priority check-in as an AquaClass perk [and the line, mixed with other "priority" groups, does exist] but, as you note, it may be of questionable value relative to alternatives... jelayne Posted January 30, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2020 While there is no embarkation lounge for AQ for debarkation there is a "dedicated lounge" for AQ normally in one of the specialty restaurants where you can wait until your luggage tag is called. Michidoeme Posted January 30, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) Most of ports no lounge for Aqua, but In some ports like Civitavecchia Rome there is a part of check in zone partitioned off and set aside as dedicated embarkation lounge where they serve coffee, cold drinks and cookies during wait before boarding. We were in Aqua at that time, maybe 5 years or so ago, but think lounge was also used for concierge maybe suites. Other times we could go straight to ship after check in and did not notice if the lounge was set up again.
