Rare Silver Spectre Posted February 10, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2020 "Dear Estimated Guest, the safety and security of our guests and crew being always the paramount priority for us and in an excess of precaution we kindly ask you to contact us or your travel advisor immediately if your current travel arrangements traveling to a Silversea Ship means you will be visiting or transiting through Mainland China or Hong Kong or if you are planning to visit Mainland China or Hong Kong between now and the time of boarding a Silversea ship. If this is the case Silversea will assist you in rerouting through an alternative arrangement avoiding Mainland China and Hong Kong. We thank you very much for your help in safeguarding the health of everyone on board and look forward to welcoming you on our beautiful ship. Kindest Regards, BARBARA MUCKERMANN Chief Marketing Officer Kindest Regards, Silversea" This was a sensible email to send out to guests about to join ships in the next week to 10 days (actually 12 days before boarding), but why not get someone to check the spelling before sending it? les37b Posted February 10, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2020 I'd estimate no more than 2 minutes of checking done. lol Was it typed on a phone with predictive text?
milepig Posted February 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2020 I suspect that the PR staff may be in for a little meeting about the need to write PR in standard English and then proofread it. What a mess.

markham Posted February 10, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2020 Silversea marketing literature is sloppy? What about those ridiculously lengthy and intrusive surveys they send out via email periodically? Not acceptable for a luxury line. Happy and healthy sailing! FauxNom Posted February 23, 2020 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2020 (edited) I was hoping this would be about the page one photo in the latest Antarctica brochure: a throng of walruses with the caption "Wildlife viewing in Antarctica" . I was really doubting my marine mammal knowledge for a minute! Edited February 23, 2020 by FauxNom
caradara Posted February 23, 2020 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2020 That jumped out at me as well. That's an Arctic picture! They need better editors.

The only problem is that they used a stock photo of a different city. I'd be specific, but I honestly can't remember the two cities involved.
