How far to the airport from Princess Fairbanks Lodge? Is a 5:30am flight possible?

Bclcemen:  The northernish end of the main runway is essentially parallel to the entrance into the Fairbanks Princess Lodge.  A 5:30 AM flight is very doable.

The morning Airport Xfers for Princess pax begin at 4:00am. Lots of people on those early flights, so it is not an issue.

When I booked our flights home from Fairbanks, only late late evening flights were available.  Not one flight before 10pm.   I did select Delta  - maybe that is the reason.

 

My booking included transfers.  My TA made some comment that we can get those refunded.   I think the four of us can get a taxi for less than $52 ($14 each person).  I looked at the map a while ago and it looked like it was under 3 miles.          

 

I hate those transfers.  You spend more time sitting and waiting for the bus to fill up.   And I am sure they would collect us hours before we really need to be at the airport.
