karriec Posted February 16, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2020 We are taking a cruise in March (Legend) and are seriously considering booking a cruise for December (Radiance). Is there any advantage to waiting to book our December cruise while on board our March cruise?

Is there any advantage to waiting to book our December cruise while on board our March cruise? They no longer have the booking a future cruise on the ship anymore. They usually now give you a 2 week window after your current cruise to book a future cruise. Don't know what the discount might be.
ALWAYS CRUZIN Posted February 16, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2020 Usually if you book on board. There is on board credit given and maybe other perks, maybe a reduced deposit. Go to the booking agent while on board and see what they have to offer. You can change the cruise you booked on board without any penalties or any loss of perks. The TA that booked the cruise you are on will receive the booking. If you did not book with a TA. You can have it taken over by a TA after your cruise but before you pay in full.
Organized Chaos Posted February 16, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2020 Carnival's "Welcome Home" program isn't as good as it use to be. You can book while you're on the cruise or you have up to four weeks after to book another one to get the benefits. Here's the details: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4565/kw/welcome home program

The new rate that you will get is a ES rate with change fees attached. This is also available online now for two weeks after the cruise. There are no more booking desks on the ships, this is now arranged at the Excursions desk, but it is absolutely the same as what you would get online after returning home. So don't waste a minute of your cruise waiting in line at Shore Excursions or using the painfully slow internet hub. If you find a good deal before you sail, book it and you will have something to look forward to when you come home.
