Not getting notifications

I have below three items checked, but am not getting notifications in my "bell."  Help, please! 🙂

 

 

 

• Automatically follow content
  • Automatically follow new content I post
  • Automatically follow content I reply to
• Method to use for content I follow automatically
  • A notification when new content is posted

Please see the existing thread concerning your situation:

 

Possibly your email provider has bounced an email from Cruise Critic causing the Notifications feature to cease.

My email provider shouldn't factor into it at all. I'm talking about the notification bell in the upper right hand corner, to the left of my user name. I didn't find a thread on this. I did search.

It's a separate issue. Am I not understanding? That person wasn't getting email notifications. I get those fine when someone directly responds to me. I am not getting notifications on my forum bell, except when someone quotes one of my posts.

If I understand correctly the Notifications bell works for members as long as the Cruise Critic feature is activated... unless the member's email provider bounces one of the Cruise Critic emails generated by the Notifications feature (the bell). Then the bell ceases to show new notifications or send emails.

 

As mentioned in the other thread:

 

... Also, please email help@cruisecritic.com from your Cruise Critic email address of record and mention your user name. Explain the possible bouncing situation and ask if anything can be done by Cruise Critic...

 

I suggest you too contact help@cruisecritic.com for assistance.

Click / tap the bell. Click / tap the Notification Settings link in the top right corner of the popup. Scroll down below the first Save button. The settings in the Notifications column control items that appear in the Notifications list. As far as I know only items in the General (second) section apply in CC. If you maker any changes may sure to click / tap the Save button below the list.

Thanks. Yes; all my options are set to in-forum notify. I am starting to get notifications on some of the posts, but not all. Very strange.

Did you get a notification for my "thanks" in the bell?

Yes. I got two from you.

 

I think what's happening is that the settings are working for anything new (since I changed the setting,) but is not being applied to threads I was in before I made the change.

 

I also noticed that I had to log out and back in after I made the change and that made it start working for the new threads.

You might try unfollowing old threads and following them again.

I tried that. It worked for all of them. Thank you.

 

Now am I getting too many notifications. My emails are set to off, but now I get an email every time something shows up in my bell. LOL - cease & desist, CC!! LOL
