BoopTennis Posted March 10, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2020 Hi. My friend’s cruise isn’t until mid july so final payment date isn’t until later BUT she had made final payment early. Under the current cancellation policy does anyone know if she can still get full refund? Cash not FCC? thx
billbunger Posted March 10, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2020 Tell your friend to call HAL they are the one with the answer, not the "Cruise Critic" experts.
fatcat04 Posted March 10, 2020 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2020 Her "cancellation fee schedule" included on page 2 of her booking confirmation, which she should have been emailed at time of booking, has all the dates and percentages of refunds listed. That is the best, easiest way to check.

VacationCharlene Posted March 10, 2020 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2020 In MY unprofessional opinion, YES she would get all of her money back anyway AS LONG AS SHE BOOKED A REFUNDABLE FARE. Nothing to do with the current CV-19 issues. Anyone, who doesn't have a non-refundable fare can cancel anytime UP TO final payment. Even though she paid early, it is still not final payment official time. Yes, she should confirm all this, when the phone lines calm down, with her travel agent or Holland America directly. Hope this helps.
Alberta Quilter Posted March 10, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2020 (edited) Last week, I cancelled my July cruise on which I had made a partial payment; final payment date was early April. I got all of my money back. As long as the final payment date has not passed for your friend's cruise, she should get all of her money back. Just read Charlene's response and totally agree. Fare must be refundable to get her money back. Couldn't tell you what would be the case if she booked under a non refundable fare. That's not quite accurate. Cancellation fees sometimes start after final payment date, so you might have even longer to cancel.

And there are also some, mostly longer or holiday, that cancellation fees start prior to final payment.
