pattiea Posted March 14, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2020 So very sad for everyone... employees who now have no employment....passengers who have vacations planned, some who have save for a long time to go on a vacation like this...and yes, all the corporations who are being hurt by this because ultimately so will we
stevea36 Posted March 14, 2020 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2020 So I guess all of Azamara, the Celebrity ships in australia and south america, are now all included as this came from RCCL, not from RCI (which is Royal Caribbean International (The cruise line itself))
MADflyer Posted March 14, 2020 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2020 Their hand was kind of forced by New Zealand suspending cruise visits though the end of June. Dubai had already ended when Jewel returned to Dubai with a possible Coronavirus scare that turned out to be nothing. It seems Voyager will miss one port and be the last ship to return to port at Sydney, maybe a day early though. I expect most Mediterranean ports to also move to a June earliest possible date, but no way to know yet as the situation is so fluid.

New Zealand stated that ships already in New Zealand would be allowed to finish the sailing, so that may mean that Azamara Journey could have been allowed to complete the current sailing, but would seem to be return to Sydney now. That leaves a couple of ships in South America then as well. Edited March 14, 2020 by MADflyer
Biker19 Posted March 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 14, 2020 (edited) So then, restart cruises in the order they were cancelled? Shanghai or Taijin anyone? They seem to have the fewest cases at the moment. Edited March 14, 2020 by Biker19

It’s seems like thing are starting to calm down in EAR. As more info becomes available and this draws on, panic will die down and things will slowly start returning to normal. The we can trade winter flu for whatever mosquitoes are carrying this year. Yup and it will all be forgotten soon. But for now its “hysteria” because of ignorance to the actual facts.
