Cone Balcony on Carnival Panorama

Thinking of booking a cruise on the Panorama in 2021. Has anyone experienced a cove balcony cabin? We have been on regular balcony cabins, but not a cove balcony. Please give pros and cons if you can. It sounds like it would be cool though.

I had a cove balcony on the Horizon for the TA cruise and I loved it.

They don't have a lot of sunshine, so if you want to sit out and get sun rays, this isn't for you.

Also don't book a cove balcony under the galley, a bit noisy with the pots and pans at all hours.

They are very private, and close to the sea, so very relaxing to sit and watch the sea go by.

In rough waters the balcony door can be locked down by the cruise line and you will be safe.

The lifeboats can block the sun, so look for a cabin that is between the lifeboats. Enjoy

We love the cove balconies. We will get a cove over a regular balcony any time we're on a Vista/Dream class ship.

  • Slightly larger
  • Shaded
  • They're secluded. You don't have people looking up (or down) at you on your balcony
  • They're closer to the water so you see more
  • There is water when you look down, not a hot tub or people lying in the sun
  • It's less motion since they're lower
  • It's quicker getting off at ports
  • It's quicker getting back to your cabin at ports
  • They're typically cheaper

For us, coves are MUCH better than regular balconies.

I totally agree with the above 2 posters. They are great. We spent a LOT of time on our cove balcony. It was just so relaxing.

Here's a few pics I took on our cruise on the Dream last July:

It's a good idea to take a close look at the ship's deck plans before choosing a cove balcony, to see what's above the cabin you're considering. We typically try to get one that's just below the Excursions Desk, or anywhere that's not below the galley.
