Cruise ship attacked by navel patrol vessel.

Recommended Posts

The RCGS Resolute - Portuguese flag in international waters off Venezuela doing engine repairs, with no passengers, was fired on by Venezuelan patrol vessel Naiguata.

The patrol vessel then rammed Resolutes starboard bow & tried to turn her head towards the shore but sustained serious damage itself on the ice reinforced bow of RCGS Resolute.

Naiguata sank & all were picked by another vessel.  After reporting to MRCC Curacao & staying onscene 1 hour Resolute was told to resume voyage to Curacao.

RCGS Resolute is owned by Colunbia Cruise Services in Germany.  Was chartered by One Ocean expeditions until late last year when they got into difficulties.

After months of arrest in BA vessel was released after money owed was paid.  Ship has a maintenace team onboard.

Clowns, they won't do that again, probably run out of naval ships now.  The one and only has gone to Gowings.

I think they were trying to get RCGS Resolution into port & then hold her to ransom.

Maybe, not known for their high integrity over there.

They have two more in that class. But were certainly offended at the loss.

Though you're optimistic about them not doing it again.
