Pugs&Kisses Posted April 25, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2020 I am hearing more and more that July cruises are most likely going to be canceled. When do you think we will know for sure. I am hoping it won't be late minute. I am trying to make back up plans. Any ideas?

TNcruising02 Posted April 25, 2020 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2020 I think they will cancel 30 days in advance. I think the earliest possible sailings will be in the fall, if even then. I've got a cruise in September and I give it a 50-50 of sailing. Even that's being generous. Anyway, I think they will continue cancelling sailings 30 days in advance. TNcruising02 Posted April 25, 2020 #5 Share Posted April 25, 2020 As far as a time frame on cancellations, I received a cancellation email on March 30th for my cruise that was supposed to sail on April 25th.
jfaaborg Posted April 28, 2020 #6 Share Posted April 28, 2020 Just booked a June 29th cruise. Hoping to get cancelled, but if we are good to sail, we are willing to take it
Florings Posted April 29, 2020 #7 Share Posted April 29, 2020 We have a 4th of July booked. I hope they don't cancel, but halfway expecting it. I'm not in the least concerned about going.....I would definitely board if it doesn't get canceled.
jerseygirlinAZ Posted April 29, 2020 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) I have a cruise out of Miami scheduled for July 12. We'll see if it's a go. Also booked a cruise out of San Diego in October because the price was right and we're thinking July might not be a go. Anak Posted April 30, 2020 #9 Share Posted April 30, 2020 just scheduled a July 4, 2020 cruise for 8 days. They told they are resuming cruises late June. If it cancels, just will reschedule for a later cruise.

jfaaborg Posted May 2, 2020 #11 Share Posted May 2, 2020 Well, you can't schedule a cruise for June or July. May be receiving a cancel letter for my upcoming one... I was hoping to go 😞
jsscuba2 Posted May 2, 2020 #12 Share Posted May 2, 2020 I spoke with my PVP about no bookings available for my July 20 cruise. She said that they are closely monitoring how many people book.
PurpleShamrock317 Posted May 2, 2020 #13 Share Posted May 2, 2020 I just had a big price drop for our November cruise. I called our PVP to see about getting the price adjusted and he told me he’d booked the same cruise for the end of July for his family, wife, son and parents. He thinks it will go. Doesn't necessarily mean anything is the US port is open. All of the Caribbean is shut down, so nowhere to go. Maybe their private island?

I found same cruise in november with a good cabin but at least $250 more. Seems like carnival prices going up further out you book just like rcl. Lol like everyone else ... I just want to know already. Edited May 3, 2020 by firefly333

TNcruising02 Posted May 3, 2020 #19 Share Posted May 3, 2020 I'm cruising out of Galveston too, but in September. I figured that port might have a better chance of opening when the time comes. I wouldn't mind just going to private islands.

No, I was referring to land based. Cruising is on hold to at the very least the end of June for Carnival.

Huh you quoted me but didnt answer. My cruise is june 28th and not cancelled, but cant be booked which everyone knows the dates until when carnival cancelled, 2 days before my cruise. My question is if Galveston is still under the governor's order to be open at 25%, wouldnt the port be under the same restriction. I cant figure out your reply yes or no Let's say it's up to 50-%, statewide by governor's order. Why wouldnt it affect the port within texas waters.

Was not trying to evade, but more specify what I was meaning. My guess is that the cruise line will have to come up with an embarkation plan that meets that directive (whatever it will be at that time, let’s hope for 50%). The answer is probably to be decided between now and then.

Seems like we might have to do social distancing and 25% or 50% of capacity even allowed in port to check in.

Agreed, that is why I said they would have to come up with a plan that meets the directive, one example on how to do this is a staggered embarkation. Rare Illbcruzn4life Posted May 3, 2020 #25 Share Posted May 3, 2020 no plan needed at least pertaining to cruises. They aren't going anywhere at the end of June.
