joeecco Posted May 19, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2020 We are booked for 3 weeks on Azura next year for our wedding and have trying to find out whether the April 2020 refit went ahead, and if not when it will be done?
terrierjohn Posted May 19, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2020 It did not happen and there has been no information out of P&O as to if or when it will happen.

I see, hopefully they don’t scrap it all together in a bid to save money..
amfc_lenny Posted May 20, 2020 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2020 Lots of ships from other lines are having their refit scaled back or delayed. Probably as a cost saving. not sure what the plan was for the refit?

It's possible that some aspects of the refit may be mandatory, in which case those aspects would have be dealt with within appropriate timescales. Bit like a car MOT. She was originally booked into a Spanish dockyard which may now be operating at some level. It may well be that they can get her booked in and sorted before PandO resume ops. This would be the best answer for all. Fingers crossed, we do love Azura but she needs some TLC and that made us happier with booking the wedding on her.
molecrochip Posted May 22, 2020 #7 Share Posted May 22, 2020 Part of the dry dock is mandatory exactly like a car MOT but in this case, a hull check amongst other matters. Additionally, parts of Azura were due to be reconfigured as she is set to become a sun-ship all year long alternating between Barbados and Valletta home-ports.

It looks like Azura is away from Southampton from 23rd June till 12th July & 12th July till 26th July First planned Cruise is 9th August if that goes ahead
joeecco Posted May 26, 2020 Author #9 Share Posted May 26, 2020 Oh wow how did you find that out? Good to know!
molecrochip Posted May 26, 2020 #10 Share Posted May 26, 2020 Azura was due to be in Southampton on 31/05, 14/06, 28/06, 12/07 and 26/07. This has now changed to 01-02/06, 09/06, 23/06 and 12/07. Its unlikely that July's data has been updated yet so I wouldn't take 12/07 as gospel. Changes to Southampton's cruise schedule update about a month in advance for new calls but cancelled calls tend to fall off a lot later.
terrierjohn Posted May 26, 2020 #11 Share Posted May 26, 2020 Even if Azura's schedule for being in Southampton is correct, that does not necessarily mean its absence will for a refit. She may just be anchored in Weymouth bay.
