Ovation of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Ovation is sailing Singapore to Japan on April 25, 2021 and Japan to Seattle on May 7, 2021. She was fully booked before Covid-19, but there may have been some cancellations. If I'm not mistaken she may be sailing from Australia to Singapore before the April 25 sailing. Not on that one , but we are booked on the Singapore to Japan to Seattle B2B.

What you see online may not represent the true inventory picture - very unlikely any repo would be sold out 1+ year out.

Ovation is sailing from Sydney to Singapore then going into dry dock for a few weeks before heading to Alaska via Japan. The Singapore to Tokyo section has been blocked from sale at least once due to port clashes which caused a shorter cruise and fewer port calls. Those who were booked on the ship were offered the choice to transfer their booking to a similar Quantum sailing which likely freed up some cabins.

RCI should have released the Australian 2021/2022 cruise season schedule which would include the Ovation a month or 2 back but they seem to be waiting until they have some clarity about cruising conditions.

Too many cruises with too many changes. Totally forgot about Ovation going into dry dock before our B2B. At least that will account for some of the time the OP was questioning. We booked the first week it was out along with many friends because it was so cheap. We were originally booked on Celebrity with a similar Itinerary but more than twice the cost. They did change the itinerary and dropped a couple of ports, first cruise is a day shorter and second a day longer. Some cancelled because of this but we still plan to go if things are much better and hopefully a vaccine becomes available.

Due to the unique itinarary the cruise did sell out very quickly when it initially was launched. This does happen on very popular itinararies which was the case with this one.

There was also a lot of group space grabbed by travel agents that may or may not have sold that wouldn’t be subject to recall until it reaches the 180 day checkpoint.  When group space is created an equal number of rooms are removed from inventory.
