helene109 Posted June 25, 2020 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2020 Yep so my PvP said that there are 3 options 1 full refund 2 partial refund and the rest applied to new booking 3 everything applied to new booking So then did the carnival email state this and I missed it? TNcruising02 Posted June 25, 2020 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2020 I don't think the email stated it, but I was able to roll over the money from my cancelled cruise to my new cruise. The FCC part was applied to the new cruise cabin. Since the FCC was higher than the new cabin, I got $120 OBC. Since the new cruise was much less expensive than what I paid for the first cruise, I will get around $1,000 refund on my credit card.

The one I received for the September cruise cancelled by Carnival sort of said that, but that's not the full story... 1. Yes, a full refund in the same form you paid. Not as a total amount but separated as to cruise fare and port fees, and add ons such as excursions and FTTF. 2. Yes, the partial refund amounting to what you paid for extraneous items such as shore excursions. I THINK the refund for the cruise fare would be partial only if the newly booked cruise costs less than the cancelled cruise. 3. Really only amount of cruise fare itself and port fees etc. I may have not explained it well, but bottom line I honestly believe if you work with your PVP you will eventually come out whole, unless of course Carnival reorganizes.
Schoifmom Posted June 25, 2020 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2020 #1 - Yes, you can get a full refund of 100% of what you paid refunded back to the original form of payment. #2 - The email states in very tiny print at the bottom that if you elect FCC, all taxes/fees/gratuities/insurance will be refunded back to the original form of payment and the cruise fare will be held as an FCC. #3 - This is what has happened for me. I just called and rolled 100% of what I paid over to a new cruise, so this is an option.
picomullet Posted June 26, 2020 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2020 We just called our PVP and rolled all over too. The non-refund was a FCC and the refundable was treated like a cash payment. The obc credit looks great too.. that was an April cruise cancellation.
