Anthem of the Seas Norwegian Fjords

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping to be booking a room soon on Anthem of the Seas out of Southampton for Norwegian Fjords cruise May 2021.   I was wondering if it will make a difference if I choose a cabin on either port or Starboard.  I'm looking at a balcony cabin on starboard side.   Also hoping May is a nice time to go.  Thanks.

Absolutely no difference - In the narrow  fjords the best vores are from upper decks.

You’ll enter the fjord early in the morning and return through the same fjord in the evening.

May is fine - still a lot of snow in the mountains.
This video is very first week of June

Thanks for posting that video it is awesome and I'm really looking forward to going.   The cabin I'm looking at will likely be on deck 7 but does have a balcony.   Hopefully it will be high enough for a decent view,  if not I can always go on deck up top and get a view.

Assuming 7 nights - at  day 5 you must be up very early - sailing through StorfjordEn sand Geiranger Fjord is 4 hours. Just before Geiranger port you’ll pass Seven Sisters Waterfall at your port side - will be at starboard when leaving in the evening. Not to be missed - at 2:00 minutes in my video in post #2.

It might be possible to watch the scenery from the North Star.

When we were sailing the Norwegian Fjords, the port lecturer was on the PA explaining about it so it's hard to miss them. You will notice one side busier than the other so just follow. As to which side to book your cabin, it really doesn't matter.

Enjoy! It was one of our most favorite cruises.
