glrounds Posted August 21, 2020 #26 Share Posted August 21, 2020 Smells like a GULLIBILITY test, to see who can buy the most shipboard pics, drop a house payment in the casino, and run them out of tequila in the bars. 🙂
Rare BlerkOne Posted August 21, 2020 #27 Share Posted August 21, 2020 Just now, glrounds said: Smells like a GULLIBILITY test, to see who can buy the most shipboard pics, drop a house payment in the casino, and run them out of tequila in the bars. 🙂 I think it is a different kind of scheme and I don't think it is run by Carnival, although it would have their permission. I see it as a third party tele- (and other) marketer/travel agent selling members vacations, dinners, whatever, for both sides to accumulate points.
thinfool Posted August 21, 2020 #28 Share Posted August 21, 2020 Seems to compare apples to apples with Delta Skymiles or AA Aadvantage programs. You can use their 'points' (or miles) to buy hotel rooms, attend concerts and a plethora of other sundry things. And it is definitely a partnership between Carnival Corp and American Express. Rare BlerkOne Posted August 27, 2020 #30 Share Posted August 27, 2020 And like that, the new "loyalty" program is going away... As we are constantly searching for ways to improve our business offerings and relationships with our customers, we have made the difficult decision to wind-down the Ocean Rewards™ program effective October 30, 2020 (“Termination Date”). As we look to the future, we will continue focus on understanding our members' needs as we consider new product offerings. Account Access & Ocean Points™: Up and until the Termination Date, your Ocean Rewards™ account will remain active and you can transact through the Ocean Rewards™ program and continue to earn Ocean Points™. Within thirty (30) days after the Termination Date, we will automatically convert any remaining Ocean Points™ to the Ocean Rewards™ Member Card and you will no longer be able to make purchases or earn Ocean Points through the program. For members with active bookings/transactions: If you elect not to convert your Ocean Points™ to the Ocean Rewards Member Card sooner, we will automatically convert any remaining Ocean Points™ to the Ocean Rewards Member Card on October 30, 2020. For those of you who have made purchases or placed orders before the Termination Date, they will be fulfilled and honored as usual. For Ocean Rewards™ Select members: If you have paid your enrollment fees, we will be refunding your annual dues on a pro-rate amount based from the Termination Date. The refunds will be processed to your primary Payment Method as identified on your member account, with 10 business days of termination date. If necessary, please update your Payment Method immediately. For questions regarding this process or your account, please contact us by dialing 1.844.466.2326. Thank you for your understanding. We appreciate the opportunity to serve all Ocean Rewards™ members.
