Indeed, so true! At least with travel insurance, you can take it all the way to the Financial Ombudsman if necessary.....we had to do that a few years back, and won our case. Their intransigence in trying to avoid paying out on a stonewall case was astounding. Maybe you can do same with travel agents, not sure, but S75 disputes via your credit card bank are possible. My. car was slightly damaged while parked outside my grandsons school. I went to my main dealership for an estimate, they took one look at my insurance details and said sorry we will not deal directly with them anymore because they take far too long to pay the bill. I was going to have to pay them and them make the claim myself. In the end the other parties company paid the bill direct the garage.
