Adding Cruisetour to Comped Cruise

We haven't tried to add it to a casino cruise but did look into it for a moveover cruise and it wasn't allowed.  We did end up booking the land through a private vendor because the Princess lodges didn't have availability when we wanted to book.  They did end up releasing packages later on and it would have been a much better deal but we didn't regret making the decision that we did.  Here is the link to the website for the Princess lodges if you want to check out their rail packages:  https://www.princesslodges.com/alaska-rail-tours/faq/  Keep in mind that they won't get you to the port and they do this by design.  But it is easy enough to book a night in Anchorage and transportation to Whittier.  (Or from if you're going in the opposite direction).

EDITTED TO ADD:  I looked at the rail packages and they do seem to now have some options to / from Whittier.  That would certainly make it easier.

It's my understanding that cruisetours are controlled and sold by a different department than  cruise only. They have fares, cabins, hotels, & transportation set aside. I don't believe you can split them. Have you asked Princess?

They're actually 2 completely different products.  I didn't realize they're sold by different departments, as skynight says, but that makes sense.

As 2 different products (the cruise, vs. the cruisetour), what I mean is the cruise is, for example, a 7-day product.  And the cruise + a 4-day cruisetour is a different 11-day product.  It's not an add-on.  You'd technically have to cancel your existing booking and move over to an 11-day cruisetour.  Not a big deal, assuming they have availability, but it's not sold as an add-on to your existing booking (in my experience).

For a casino deal it is a big deal since the casino deals never include a cruisetour.
