People were NOT lead to believe masks protected them. Those home made and surgical masks are for source control (meaning droplets and aerosols are blocked by the masks to minimize transmission of the virus). I don't know where you get your information from but I was never informed that masks are to protect the people who wear them. In fact, the CDC, very early on told us that masks were to protect others around us. Don't you remember hearing that?

even if you put some hand sanitizer on your hands, you've still got the same clothes on (that you haven't sanitized) and will likely be touching at some point during your trip in the store.  Your hair also probably wasn't sanitized...  Many people are also constantly adjusting their masks and unless you immediately sanitize your hands every time you touch your mask, or your hair or your clothes,  you have just re-exposed your hands to whatever that mask is supposed to be keeping in...

 

IMO masks have always been a false sense of security.

 

Masks are meant to block droplets and aerosols. That is the basis of universal masking and source control. Simple enough concept.

 

Another simple concept that was relayed to the American people very early on was DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE. Touching the mask has nothing to do with not touching your face. In fact, touching the mask prevented people from touching their eyes, nose and mouth. That mask was actually a way of reminding people to not touch their face (eyes, nose and mouth).

In a nutshell.....Dr. Fauci is saying masks are NOT for protection but to keep an infected person from spreading the virus. The reason we were all told to wear masks is to protect others from someone who may be asymptomatic and not even be aware they could be spreading the virus. That mask blocks droplets and aerosols and minimizes transmission of the virus.

You don't read his emails enough I see.. Fauci said in one of them that asymptomatic rarely if ever spread the virus. 

He's a paid clown. Rich and Famous now for lying to us for a year. Constantly saying the opposite of what's true to the American people.

 

How can you stand up for him?!

In other words he funded the virus being engineered and transmitted to people... If that isn't good enough his recent emails being released show he covered for the Chinese after the outbreak started while knowing exactly where it came from.

If people actually believe the US funded covid research, then that proves the Chinese were right and the US is responsible for the virus.

 

Dr Fauci has dedicated his life to public health through administrations on both sides of the aisle and now in his 80s some are trying through character assassination to somehow discredit him. Intelligent people can see through that ruse.

Fauci admitted to indirectly sending money to the Wuhan Lab. It's on video go watch it for yourself. They engineered Coronavirus to see the effects on humans. Whether it was leaked on accident or on purpose is another story. But he's selling books now and throwing out first pitches at MLB games. Fauci is rich and famous because of the virus.

Because many people were under the false impression that they were protected from getting covid if people wore masks.  Why else were there covid deaths in states that had strict mask mandates?  Obviously, high risk people thought they were safe.

He threw out one pitch, not pitches. See? I'm not blind.

 

Fauci was famous before, and earns his salary, especially given the crap he has to put up with.
