kstom1 Posted July 26, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2021 I called Royal today to see if I could add an additional cabin for the current passengers in my party. The rep said the ship was 100% full! I thought they were keeping numbers of passengers sailing low? The rep didn't know anything about it. Anyone know anything?
poocher Posted July 26, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2021 (edited) I think the rep meant 100% of the reduced capacity. The phone CDRs aren’t the brightest bulbs. Probably just couldn’t see any more open rooms and that meant 100% full. Edited July 26, 2021 by poocher 2

I doubt seriously that the ship is at full occupancy. More likely, they have terminated sales to meet a lower occupancy rate. All of the sailings have been doing it this way. Once they reach their desired occupancy level (say 40%), they close out sales. My guess this is what the CSR was seeing - the ship has reached its desired occupancy, not sold out at full occupancy.

I doubt that the ship is sailing at more than 60% capacity at your sailing if not lower.
SoCA6ft5 Posted July 26, 2021 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Sailing at reduced capacity probably also means sailing at reduced staffing. Even if the ship had empty cabins, they may not have cabin stewards to service them.
Rare Ukigirl Posted July 26, 2021 #7 Share Posted July 26, 2021 I was told by an RCC rep that reduced capacity will stay in place until at least end of the year. 1
ampurp85 Posted July 27, 2021 #8 Share Posted July 27, 2021 @Ukigirl I was told the same thing, that they may not even get most of the fleet back until 2022.
