Hotel for Christmas Palm Beach/FLL/MIA Area

I"m looking for a nice (4 star+) hotel for 4 nights over Christmas before a cruise that leave out of Miami. 2 adults, 2 older teens. Close to the beach would be ideal.

 

I would like to keep the budget around $300-400 US per night if possible. My usual choices are closer to $600/night (understandable for the holidays, but out of budget).

 

Any suggestions?

If you have a car, consider the Marriott Fort Lauderdale North.  Near I-95, restaurants nearby, and a very nice 4th Floor pool deck and exercise room.  No beach, but the pool is nice.  Plenty of seating included a sheltered area with comfy casual furniture.  The hotel is quite popular with families during the holidays.  The lobby is nicely decorated.  Parking is free in an attached parking garage.  It ought to be in your price range and may be on the low side of your price range.

For Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) hotels check out www.sunny.org.  That site is full of great tourist information.

 

Will you have your own transportation?  If not, travel from Palm Beach County will not be cheap.  From Boca Raton (southern most town in Palm Beach County) to Port Miami is 45 miles.  A number of Fort Lauderdale hotels are serviced by private shuttle companies that provide transportation to Port Miami for a per person cost of around $15.

There are so many choices on South Beach but I do think Hollywood Beach is a bit more family friendly and they do decorate the broadwalk for the holidays...you could also try the Circ Hotel in downtown Hollywood...there is a free electric car shuttle that takes you all around downton and the beach...also, very centrally located to FLL and MIA
