These are the new guidelines from the CDC (from the link I posted at the top of this thread):

Testing of Embarking and Disembarking Passengers for Simulated and Restricted Voyages

Note: This section applies to cruise ships operating under the CSO, including those choosing to follow CSO measures on a voluntary basis.

Screening Testing of All Embarking and Disembarking Passengers for Simulated and Restricted Voyages

I know it is coming from the CDC.  However many countries use 72 hours which would correspond more closely to the new 2 day rule, than the 3 days rule based upon the way it was being interpreted and implemented.  After all if a cruise was departing on Sunday, the 3 day rule as implemented allowed for the test on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday before boarding.  The two day rule is more in line with the 72 hour before arrival that is widely used.

Wouldn't it make more sense if they wanted 72 hours to be the standard to change 3 days to 72 hours instead of changing 3 days to 2 days?
