Lisichka Posted September 12, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2021 Do you have to disembark on the next stop or do you get quarantined to your cabin for the rest of your cruise? And if you get quarantined to your cabin, is this where you get put on a Covid floor of cabins or do you get to stay in your own cabin? What if you get seriously ill? I know RCCL flies you back to the US, but does MSC just dump you at the first port? I have to admit I did not like hearing a fully vaccinated passenger on MSC just died, and it got me wondering. dexddd Posted September 12, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 12, 2021 I've not heard about the dead passenger yet. From the rumor mill here with people saying they have no room numbers and when they talk to MSC that they have sectioned off floors, it sounds like on board. Can you please reference your source for the information on the Meraviglia death? I only heard about a drowning, not any sort of death due to COVID. It is all over the news. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/19573691.amp/ Many more news articles on this if you google. Rumor mill says MSC is not adhering to safety rules causing huge case loads. Edited September 12, 2021 by Lisichka

Happygcruiser Posted September 12, 2021 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2021 It’s a closed off part of ship. We experienced it, my wife was just considered contact (with the watch they tracked). So all four of us (with2 kids) were moved during the night to a closed part of the boat. Not allowed to leave, and anything we ordered were delivered in hazmat suites to us… Then we were escorted down the ship with priority at our original disembarkation port. We had to wear hazmat suites also…

We were never refunded… the compulsory COVID insurance was useless… it was only 1,5 days anyhow… and an experience.

Did you pass on the extra insurance ? Was everybody in your party vaccinated, meaning nobody in your party wasunderage? This was still in February, pre-vaccination times. I dont think a lot of people was vaccinated at that time. I payed only the 25EUR insurance. During the time of isolation our family got 2 interconnected balcony cabins (instead of one), we were allowed to do whatever we wanted... Use the paying movies, satellite phone, order anything... So they were nice. We got calls 3 times a day from the kitchen, what we want to eat, etc. We got the MDR menu, and were able to choose from that. also order Pizza or anything.
