Does anyone know what's happening with Emerald October 4 cruise??

We are booked on the October 4 Emerald cruise from Budapest to Bucharest.  Today we received an email from our travel agent saying because a lock is closed in Bratislava, we are to meet at a hotel in Budapest and drive to Bratislava to embark. The problem, as we see it, is that Bratislava is the opposite direction that the cruise should be going. The cruise line won't talk directly to us because we have a travel agent and when the travel agent called, voicing our concerns, she was told by customer service that they were confused too and they would get back to her. We are scheduled to leave early Thursday morning to start a 3-day pre-cruise trip that we've arranged on our own. Is anyone else booked on this cruise and could shed some light on what's happening?  I hope our original cruise wasn't changed and no one informed us.

Is it possible that Emerald doesn't have a ship on the other side of the closure?

We are also on this cruise. There is a lock that is under construction for a long period of time. Can’t remember name. It has intermittent closures. I found a Slovakian website with information. It closed today and will reopen on the 4th but no time is given.
Viking and AMA are disembarking passengers in Bratislava and bussing to Budapest. This was reported on CC.
My assumption is that the Destiny wouldn’t be able to transit the lock in time to reach Budapest on the morning of the 4th for us to embark. Not certain if our itinerary for Tuesday will change.
Emerald has one ship on the other side of Budapest but closer to Bucharest.
Looking forward to this trip. Now to pass the Covid test.
we are 2 couples traveling from Ohio. Will hopefully meet you next week.  Linda

This lock closure was noticed on September 9, 2021

Slovak Republic (Notice to Skippers No. 123/2021 of 9th September 2021) – Danube Commission – Donaukommission – Commission du Danube – Дунайская Комиссия

Disappointing that Scenic/Emerald waited almost 3 weeks until almost the 11th hour before contacting its customers about an issue and still is unable to answer questions about the changes.

This change will give us more time to see Budapest. Before we were being transferred from hotel and going to ship at 11am. We had then planned to tour the city more. This way we can check out of our room(we are spending night before cruise) and have more of the day to tour without interruption.
Will be interesting to transit the largest lock in Europe

see you next week
