Cabin 8189, 2 cabins away from 8185, has a black square on the deck plan indicating a convertible sofa near the balcony and thus the bed near the closet. Since cabins alternate, 8185 also has the bed near the closet.

Is the convertible sofa bed always near balcony? I have seen pictures with sofa in front of closet.

Your bed will be near the closet.  8185 does not have a convertible sofa bed, just a standard sofa.

That seems like a better place for bed is near the closet so it makes the veranda seem more open with sofa next to balcony.  May be more difficult to get into closet but who cares!

The sofas alternate - next to balcony, next to closet, next to balcony, etc.  Most of the sofas next to the balcony are convertible, although not all.  None of the sofas next to the closet are convertible - but in pictures they look just the same as the convertible ones - so long as the convertible sofa has not been opened up in the picture.

We much prefer the bed by the closet also because it makes the whole cabin seem larger, with more open space. . And you can sit on the sofa and look out at the balcony, almost like being out there.

For us it has to be bed by the balcony.

One because the boss (Anita) uses a rollator and having the bed by the balcony gives much more space when you enter the cabin. Once folded the rollator fits snugly between the end of the sofa and the closet.

Two because the small occasional table can be moved and slide neatly half under the dressing table parallel to the wall. You can still sit at the dressing table and use half table and it frees up a lot of floor space.
