Events question for those on board or who have sailed recently

Noticed on the plan your journey section on the medallion app, that it is showing number of people attending 

 

 

Do we have to reserve a spot for each and every event we maybe interested in attending?

any help or insight is appreciated

No, you needn’t reserve a spot. Just show up.

We are on the Emerald now. 
there was some discussion early on about needing reservations but that is definitely not the case. For example, for last night’s show in the Princess Theater the ap showed 39 attending while there were at least 200 in attendance.  
not sure why this function still exists as it’s completely superfluous.

Possibly put there for future use after they start sailing at full capacity?

My understanding of the option in the app is just for you to bookmark it...so that if you filter journey planner to "my events" then it will just show you what you have bookmarked as wanting yo go to
