It's been awhile and I'm feeling lost. . . help!

Hello!

I will admit I've not been on the Carnival website or Cruise Critic since life for all of us changed.  Our deposit is still there, from a previously cancelled cruse and we finally feel it's time to look into cruising again.  We have found a cruise and when I went to the Carnival website I'm scratching my head.  We have 5 options for booking.  I did mock bookings for the same balcony room and the price ranged from $859 per person to over $1,100 per person for the same room.  What does PSV, PEG, PCN, PB4 and PNS stand for?  In the past we've always booked early saver for the price protection and done very well.  That price is pretty much middle of the road with those figures.  I assume you still do things the same way and submit a price difference form if that's the way we go.  Any thoughts?  Is the casino option a way to go?  Lastly, any idea if a Black Friday sale will be a thing?  We've found what we want just unsure which "package" to go with and if we should wait until next Friday.
Thanks for all that reply and Happy Thanksgiving!

The codes like PSV and PEG are just their internal codes for that promotional deal. You might use it if you were talking to someone at Carnival so they know what rate you are referring to. You just have to read the rate description and Terms and Conditions linked for each rate and decide which one you want.

Some of those codes will be Early Saver. For example, the first line of the Terms and Conditions for the PEG code says "Early Saver terms & conditions apply".

Click on terms. Right now my best price is a code where you are required to prepay tips. All sales are final, no price drops. So if its past final payment and drop dropped too bad.

There is a place to read the terms for each code. Not hard to understand the terms to me.

That code will make the price look higher tha  others but it might actually have a lower bottom line.

Lots of new offers with a few tricks thrown in. Even rates with cheers and wifi.

I think Carnival is trying some different rates, much like NCL has done.

Right now I have past guest, early saver, cheers included, free wifi and a few other rates to choose from it I wanted to book.

We usually book early saver as well, but the free cheers offers have gotten us to book twice now, lol

My advice is to always use your personal cruise planner. They are really helpful and it doesn't cost you anymore.

My advice is to find a good TA. It does not cost you any more, and in fact might cost you less.

For sure going to look a bit closer, especially for the cheers offer.

Indiana cruiser here as well!
