@TracieABD  Tracie:  A memory question about the Regal...

Do you know where the Quarantine area was?  It would have been one side of a cabin deck where the fire doors were closed in the passageway to prevent casual access

--Marne

I think it was Dolphin and Emerald- starboard side- odd numbered cabins.

Totally agree with you!  ZsaZsa was in charge of Sanctuary on our last Regal cruise and she was wonderful.  We saw her again this cruise as we made reservations for the CG and she remembered us.

Tracie-Lynn....we were on this cruise as well and were the couple in the opposite corner from you in Sanctuary.  I know exactly who you are referring to with the lack of volume control.  Part of what we love about Sanctuary is that it is quiet and relaxing....unfortunately not so much with these couples there.

So agree with your review of CG.....the steak was just ok and the sides we ordered were cold.  And my hamburger on deck was inedible and I usually love them.  My husband had on the next day and said it was really good.

Overall though our meals were wonderful!  Especially our 2 dinners in Sabatini's.

Hey there!

Thank you for the confirmation(s).  I hate to be critical, but there were a few things amiss… much of it out of Princess’s control.  Overall, these cruises were so much fun!

How much fun, you ask?

We just booked 3 more yesterday!!

Tracie…. I so appreciate your ‘LIVE’ cruise reports and answers to inquiring minds!  Thank you so much for letting us travel along with you.

We will be back on the Regal for the first 2 weeks of February and it will be our first B2B.  Your info on the turnaround day is very helpful even though this well seasoned cruiser has a good handle on cruising usually.

We head off to FLL next weekend to board the Sky Princess for another first…. A Christmas Cruise.  I’m hoping to do some live reports from there. Like you, the ship is our destination for 10 days.

Merry Christmas!  🎅🏼🎄🤶🏻

Judy

You’ve got this! I will be looking out for your live from!!!

I do love a holiday cruise!  You will still be sailing at reduced capacity… around 2000 passengers.  Not too shabby!

First thanks for the “Live from”. How/where do you find the capacity?  We are on the January 14th sailing on the Regal and it appears there are a lot of cabins still unsold.  Our CVP says they don’t know how many guests

Thanks, @TracieABD.  DW and I will be on the Regal in a couple of weeks.  We're booked for Dolphin deck starboard, very forward.  So far, no notice from Princess that our cabin has changed.  We'll just have to wait for boarding to see if that holds.

Honestly, I might not have all of my facts straight. Full disclosure: I stayed directionally confused on this ship. Not sure why. Also, it may have been Emerald deck only. I always meant to make a note of it... and never quite did.

I asked the Captain's Circle Host(ess), Patrizia. She is lovely and very helpful in these matters.

@marne-c

We were on Regal 12/4 to 12/9,  and one of the quarantine sections was E102 thru E110.  We were booked in E110 and got notified they were changing our cabin due to quarantine protocols.

@kb4683  How far in advance of your cruise were you notified?  Or was it when you checked in for embarkation?

3-4 weeks before sailing.  I was on hold with Princess for 4.5 hours trying to move from our “upgrade” to a comparable cabin that was available on the starboard side (E105).

Thanks 🍷.

Where did you finally land?

Where we wanted (almost) — E105.  The first two reps I talked to didn’t know how to handle it and wanted to charge me more for the exact same category 😱.  I kept telling them it was unacceptable so was put back on hold for a supervisor.  When I finally talked to her, it took less than 5 minutes for her to do what I asked.  🥳

We had wanted to upgrade for the second leg of a B2B; they told our TA that we were B2B and had to keep the same cabin for both legs; I said that on CC I was following a couple of "live froms" where they had changed cabins, so please check up the ladder; they did and VOILA, got to pay for what we wanted :)

My guess is if you had booked it as (1) 14 night trip, that would have been true but if you booked it as 2 cruises, then you should have been able to upgrade. I think there are a lot of inexperienced people on the phone. Glad you got what you wanted.

You are correct; we have it as two separate for many reasons 🙂 (separate casino credits being one of them). It worked out well.

Tracie - reading your turnaround morning post it looks like you did not need to be covid tested.   Is this correct, as others on different ships doing B2B have said they were tested while in the terminal and if positive the crew would pack everything in their cabin and their cruise would be over

We also read the info that Princess has on their website about getting tested in the terminal on turnaround day so if that is the case when we do B2B in January on Emerald, we plan to take all important stuff off the ship (medications, empty the safe of cash and credit cards, and of course passports). That way, the crew will be mainly be packing up our clothes.

We were Covid tested the day before turnaround.  We did not ever receive results and have assumed no news is good news.

We get tested again on Friday for the next leg… turn-around day is Saturday.

We're hoping we get tested the day before turnaround when we do B2B on the Emerald in January.

I was on this same cruise as Tracie and we were all tested in one of the dining rooms just a day or so before turn around day.  It was very easy....a message was left in our cabin telling us to report to the dining room at 2:30pm the next day.  It was quick and easy.

I hope that is what happens on our January B2B cruises. Things are changing a lot right now because of the Omicron variant so we will wait and see. Just looking forward to cruising again.
