I try to keep track of the CDs and AMs on my cruises.  I almost always reach out and take pictures with them.  The chart I'm posting here started with me wanting to remember the CDs I've met.  Somehow it evolved to a chart of current CDs.

One thing I've noticed with CDs recently is that the morning shows are now very basic. Pre COVID, the shows would usually last 15/20 mins, the AM would be on with them, a bit of banter, guests could get shoutouts. Now it's the CD alone doing a basic rundown of events (plus advice for getting off in port) and that's all. The show lasts just over 5 mins. I wonder why that's happened.

On the Visions, they're still doing the usual stuff.  Cruise director gives a overview of the day. AM goes through main events and activities on the planner.  Department heads present their offerings - Shore Excursions, Onboard Shops, Port Shopping, Spa, Art Auctions, etc.

I wonder how the cruise director situation will be when Marc Walker joins the Navigator for the Star Trek and the 80s cruises.  Will he be the sole CD or will he be co-director with Thiago Motta?  Will Marc Walker even be CD at all?

I asked Marc about this on his FB Page, he hasn't replied (yet).

Normally it’s 4 months on, 2 months off. But contracts are sometimes extended depending on ship and itinerary and availability of ‘fill in’ CDs.

Jeff is just one of two CDs I remember, which is why I was so happy to have him again on my recent Anthem cruise. It seems so easy for a CD to just do a routine job. Jeff is also very personable to talk to. Can't say the same about other CDs.
