Just checked our time for Seashore 01/08 and it was changed from 12:00 to 12:30

Seashore is being monitored by the CDC because of their “yellow” status.

I’ve heard some stories on here about the crowds of people at the terminal on embarkation day with not much social distancing.
So maybe one of the things the CDC is advising them to do is spread out the times and enforce it for a change.

There are over 27 cases of Covid on board inbound to Miami. The Dec 23 sailing is still on however I wouldn’t be surprised if departure time is pushed later for sanitation etc. We went from 11 to 330. I’ll still show up at 11

I wonder where all these sick people came from, didnt they take aPCR test or get vaccinated prior to boarding? I mean there could 1-2 cases but not 27. That is a lot. Hope everyone is doing alright

Unfortunately a test is only a moment in time. Could be negative when they took it and positive the next day without symptoms.
We would have to take a daily test to know for sure. This whole thing stinks.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Will those people have to disembark tomorrow? Do you have a contact on board who told you about the cases?

The contact on board is MSC, who sent us an email and text message. They’re allowing anyone to cancel for full refund if not not comfortable. 28 of 4714 pax and crew tested positive, 0.59% of the total population.

Good to know they’re being transparent and offering the option for a full refund.

They tested everyone onboard?  I doubt it. I bet there’s many more cases that are asymptomatic.

I’ll be watching my email as I doubt this will be any better by our cruise on Seashore Jan 8th, chances are it may be much worse.

FYI - MSC Seashore 12/23 check in time was pushed for us from 11:30am to 2:30pm.

If anyone has insight as to what might have happened, I would appreciate if they can share it. Thanks.

That happened to me on the Meraviglia in October out of Miami. I showed up around 1:45 and there was no line. A group that retained their early boarding time had a very long wait.

Interesting: we are also boarding tomorrow, but have no email from msc 🤷‍♀️

I read from multiple people onboard right now that there was a tragic incident today.  Initially it was announced by the Captain that there was a possible passenger overboard.  However it now appears that, tragically, the person had fallen from an upper deck into a lower deck and has subsequently passed away.  The ship is heading back at full speed to Miami so that authorities can board and conduct an investigation.  This may be another reason why boarding times have been pushed back.

For anyone boarding today I suspect packing a large dose of patience. With the authorities having to come onboard and conduct an investigation as well as (likely) enhanced cleaning measures I would think that they would not allow anyone onboard until this afternoon.

Sadly a 15 year old child has died.

I was on this cruise. The deceased was a 17 year old male who jumped off his balcony on Deck 16.

Sad - tragic. The FBI, CDC and the police were boarding this AM to investigate. I am sure the incident will affect boarding today. Please be patient folks! They (the staff) are very heavy hearted at the moment.

I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I read about it here last night. I can’t begin to imagine how his family is feeling. They have been in my thoughts all day.

I also feel for you guys/all passengers on that cruise and the crew.
Been cruising for close to 40 yrs and have thankfully never heard that announcement from the Captain and I hope we never will.

It’s been very difficult. We’re on 15 Starboard in YC on 16 and my mother is just a few doors down from the cabin in YC Port. We won’t go outside on the Port Side and really haven’t been to the gym. I don’t wish this experience on anyone especially those on the sailing last week and especially a family who goes through something so awful and tragic. On this Christmas day please keep the family of the boy in your thoughts.
