You would never find 60% of guest in a Hilton Diamond status, or 60% of passengers on a United flight 1K status or 60% of Hertz customers Presidential Circle status. Princess needs to thin the ranks by having passengers sail a certain number of days a year or reach a certain spend level to qualify for their status again each year….it is basically a joke…. you seem to be delighted in your decision to stay with the Princes brand. arizonaperson Posted January 8, 2022 #152 Share Posted January 8, 2022 (edited) This is the passenger count that my mom shared for this voyage, ( December 29- January 8th aboard The Majestic Princess) it may not be the exact amount as she said it was a very fast announcement and she was trying to write it down. So this is approximately . 2135 passengers Elite 643 Platinum 607 Ruby 178 Gold 302 Blue? 405 #1 has 1,736 days #2 1,446 days #3 over 1,00 days. One couple onboard ? ( not sure if onboard or across the fleet)has sailed 13 times since Princess started back up. Usually when they have been transferring crew into quarantine, they have tended to use Crown tender boats.

That would make the percentage of Elites around 30%, not 60% as previously mentioned. Disembarking was a breeze! Great cruise!

Melisstress Posted January 9, 2022 #157 Share Posted January 9, 2022 As promised, another update as our cruise has ended. Not the update I was hoping to give, however, as we spent the last two nights in the quarantine rooms on the Dolphin deck. We noticed a few days ago that everywhere on the ship coughs and sneezes could be heard, and started feeling a little more run down than usual. To be safe (and respectful of other passengers) we took tests and were both positive. Guest services wouldn't give us a head count of others who tested positive, but as we disembarked this morning (full hazmat suited escorts took us out group by group out a service elevator and around the side of the boat to the back side of customs) I tried to count the other "sick rooms" but lost count after at least 20 or so surrounding doors with red dots and notes on them. And our group of 6 was the last of several, according to a radio we overheard. I don't want to discourage anyone from cruising, but I think the best thing you can do is assume that everyone you are around has it, and act accordingly (take the stairs, wear your mask at all times, etc). We are in our 30s/40s and feeling pretty miserable at the moment. Not the way we wanted to end our trip, to say the least! 3

We’ve played back so many scenarios but can’t pin down where we might have gotten it for sure, so I’m not sure what we could have done differently. We are mask and hand sanitizer obsessed and even have a daily nasal sanitizer/barrier we swab on… One observation is that everyone seemed completely healthy until a day or two after the second port, so if it came aboard then, it doesn’t feel unrealistic that we might have picked it up grabbing a drink at a bar or even having (unmasked) conversation with a table next to us at dinner. Difficult to say and that is the unplannable thing about it. Maybe we picked it up at port ourselves, though we made a point of only doing outdoor activities. Just no way of knowing! 1

That’s my fear is not being able to go home which is the only place I’d want to be if I was feeling sick.

They have added a motion sensor LED dome light on the ceiling in front of the closet/bathroom door. It is extremely bright and is very shocking in the middle of the night, when going to the bathroom. They also added 8 inch long LED motion sensor light at the bottom of the two bed nightstands and the refrigerator cabinet. Also, the most annoying at night! We always travel with a roll of black electrical tape to cover uncovered peep holes and annoying lights. So, I took care of all the sensors! Our room steward told us her supervisor could cover them or we were welcomed to do it ourselves. Btw, we are in a mini-suite. The strip lights beneath the bedside tables are okay for me, but that light in the closet area?! It’s way too bright in the middle of the night, and I much prefer controlling it during the day!!!

atobols Posted January 9, 2022 #163 Share Posted January 9, 2022 We had cruised on the Ruby over Thanksgiving and were excited to cruise on the Majestic over New Year's. In comparison to the Ruby, the Majestic was better in some areas and worse in others. The food was a major improvement over the Ruby. We ate everywhere except at Harmony and it was all good. The Ruby had an amazing party band and three different solo/duo singing acts which were all amazing. The Majestic was really lacking when it came to music. We finally got a good guitarist/singer on the last three days of our cruise. I think his name was Cameron Duncan, but I'm not positive. The headlining entertainment was good. I saw two comedians, one magician, and the singing impressionist. The singing impressionist, Tricia Kelly, was very good. The cruise director, Kevin Tugwell, and his staff were all really good. If they were running something, we knew it would be funny and entertaining. For excursions, we did snorkeling through Princess in Puerto Vallarta. The snorkeling wasn't amazing and the water was a little on the cool side. Wetsuits were not offered for that excursion. I get cold in water pretty easily. I would have been more comfortable in a shorty wetsuit. We did a private ziplining excursion in Mazatlan and that was wonderful. I have two teen boys and that was the highlight of their trip. We will definitely be ziplining again. In Loreto we did a private snorkeling excursion. A full wetsuit was provided and it was cold. That snorkeling trip was better because there was a greater variety of fish but that water was cold. I only lasted about half an hour before I had to get out and warm up. In Cabo we did a private 2-tank scuba dive. That was a surprisingly good dive. The water was warmer than in Loreto. I wore a full wetsuit, but I was comfortable the entire time we were in the water. We saw a large group cow nose rays, got up close to a moray eel, saw a lobster, and had some sea lions swim alongside us. We got home from our cruise yesterday evening and all got COVID tested this morning. Thankfully, we all got negative test results and we're all feeling healthy. It was a very enjoyable cruise. GlobetrotterD Posted January 10, 2022 #172 Share Posted January 10, 2022 We just got off the Majestic on Jan 8. We snorkeled in Puerto Vallarta on a self booked excursion from the port terminal to Yalapa. I would not recommend using the company Vallarta By Boat to Yalapa. They are very unreliable. We almost missed the ship and had to make our own arrangements to get back in time. The fish were ok and the water was nice. Yalapa is not all that interesting so do the Los Arcos snorkel excursion from the ship...We did not snorkel in Mazatlan...We canceled the snorkel in Loreto because the water was cold and we didn't want to wear wetsuits. We did snorkel in Cabo and had a great time. We booked it at Pier/Deck D for $60/each with Daniela Gaxiola Suastequi Tours on the catamaran Principessa. There were a lot of people from different tour operators on the boat so it should be easy to book. Have a great time!

Thanks According to what I was told, is the entire Dolphin deck is now shut down. it was originally the port side but it is also the starboard If I were you, I would avoid picking anything on Dolphin. We had our Dolphin cabins removed from us four times since October. We booked in March 2021 and leave this coming Saturday we have had D710, our OG cabin. Then we got it back but then had it removed/changed to a caribe deck cabin It was then changed again to cabin and we got one on the other side D703. We then moved to D701 after that one opened up. Then they moved us again to another deck. We then got upgraded to a guarantee Deluxe Balcony. Now we are just waiting for a cabin assignment. just beware that I was told they are using all of the aft and mid-aft Dolphin cabins. There may be more this is the Majestic just in case you are wondering.

I'll see how much they would charge to upgrade to a mini suite with the big balcony.

And we were moved from our mini suite into a deluxe balcony for the quarantine as they were “out of” of the larger cabins. Again, speaking to how many people fell ill…
