Rare morpheusofthesea Posted January 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2022 We are not canceling our cruise in a few weeks on the Seashore, but are also very curious to know if MSC is 'forcing' ALL passengers to retest while on board in order to visit any port whether passengers decide to stay on board or not. karmamule Posted January 18, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2022 We're on the Seashore for the 22nd to 29th and would love to hear the latest as well! If no one responds then we'll let you all know how the next sailing goes.
shecup Posted January 19, 2022 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2022 Following. We're sailing in April. Hoping for a fairly empty ship. 😉

We are still debating on whether or not to go.
NCTribeFan Posted January 19, 2022 #7 Share Posted January 19, 2022 I don't sail until April, but I'll happily take the "forced" test any time they wish to administer it, especially if it shows there are positive cases. We need to care about those people in the ports, not just ourselves. 1

karmamule Posted January 20, 2022 #9 Share Posted January 20, 2022 Our time is almost here. We fly out in less than two days and three days from now we'll be on the ship. We'll be anxious until we've both got our COVID test results. We'll be doing them first thing tomorrow morning using the home BINAX kits. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

karmamule Posted January 22, 2022 #12 Share Posted January 22, 2022 On board and relaxing! We saw a few people test positive and get taken over to a quarantine area which was really sad, but we’re here now. Itinerary was rearranged from Sea day Puerto Plata San Juan Sea day Ocean Cay (evening) Ocean Cay to Ocean Cay Sea day Sea day San Juan Puerto Plata Sea Day Disappointed to lose an evening at Ocean Cay but just grateful to have made it on the ship and time to enjoy that cruise life!!!

Glad to hear you made it on the ship. Sad to hear about the few that did not. That is what bothers me! Hoping they quit testing at the port soon! Can't wait to hear more from you! 1

Editing my response to you so as to act like an adult. I just think that we should act like England is getting ready to and stop all of this testing and mandates. That is the only way we will ever move forward. Happy Cruising Edited January 23, 2022 by ready2cruzagain
Oxo Posted January 23, 2022 #19 Share Posted January 23, 2022 Everyone has an opinion. I'm not an MD. It's a shame that with all the advise people give, C19 is not gone.

karmamule Posted January 23, 2022 #21 Share Posted January 23, 2022 I don’t know exact number yet but it is very sparse. We did stop at Ocean Cay today, staying until 10pm. We had a cabana and enjoyed our time even though it was cloudy. The water and air were the same temperature! (Low 70s) So far our food in the Yacht Club has been delicious (the lasagnette last night was especially yummy) Morning breakfast buffet was meh but when we stopped by the main buffet for some pizza last night it was as delicious as we remembered it. Staff has been way more outgoing and friendly than we’re used to from past trips. All the passengers seem more outgoing too so probably due to the low passenger count. Two sea days next 😁
karmamule Posted January 24, 2022 #22 Share Posted January 24, 2022 So we were told there are barely over 1000 passengers in our sailing and about 110 people in the yacht club (which could normally hold over 300). It is indeed a very quiet cruise but surprisingly social despite that. We’re having a great time so far. We’re glad to experience this as it’s probably going to be a fleeting experience that won’t happen again once things get closer to normal. We’ll use the next two sea days for specialty dining and exploring the ship more.
