I am so sorry this has happened. I have no doubt SAGA will look after you all, not only now but in terms of compensation/future cruises.. Out of interest do you know what capacity the ship is currently sailing at ? I have emailed SAGA and asked the question but their response ignored the question.

Although a stop in Vigo en route would go down well here!

But that would nean all poitive cases, plus close contacts would have to be disembarked!

Straight back to the UK would be best option.

Thanks everyone. Thinking Horta, take on fuel, then home. Although a stop in Vigo en route would go down well here! Can't see what alternate itinerary would meet guest approval. Currently guests seem to be on side. Captain Darin needs to continue his regular updates, he's been making his physical presence known out and about.

According to Cruise-mapper you are expected back at Horta at 8.00 am on March 5. I think that your spirit is wonderful. Hope that SAGA pull out all of the stops to give you all the very best possible time!

Day 43 / 67

Day 10 / 35 of the other one

Sea day

The sea is no longer deep blue 😭

I have a stoical reputation to maintain and an LFT appointment imminent.

Check out the bruise on my finger! Those felting needles are nasty! Teeny tiny barbs......

Why in Vigo and not Horta? We need fuel for starters and provisions .

While I think of it : Horta. When we were there 2 years ago the excellent shops preferred cash as opposed to cards.... very poor WiFi. The shuttle bus takes you to a stop by a hotel along the front. Walkable back. Two beautiful churches that chime in succession. Night time sailaway is beautiful.

I think that if no one is allowed off the ship, the authorities would probably work around the dusembarkation rules,  especially given the number of cases involved.

We've just been for LFT testing. And come away untested. It's like a super spreader event up there. Maybe 100 people, seated, waiting their turn to be tested. We did a swift 180 when the penny dropped and have retreated to the Living Room.

Tested negative so took a stroll. Aft deck 8 still closed to guests (covid isolation)

Link to video here

Deck 7 closed for access to enter. Solitary deck chairs deck 6 port side in the shade. Was the same in the sun starboard with no towels out and few guests. The sea is blue now! 💙

Very pleased that your test was negative.  Such a disappointment not to be able to complete your cruise to the Caribbean.  I have enjoyed reading your blog and seeing all the great photos, some of which took me down memory lane.  Thank you - take care.

Hi NN - was this Caribbean cruise the last part of your long trip ?

Do you plan to stay on if it goes somewhere else as a replacement ?

and ! Have you got any other cruises booked this year and would you be posting ?

Thanks for sticking with it. Not over yet!

This is the last leg of 3 cruises. Cannot imagine what would encourage me to stay on. Her next cruise will be 29th March so not feasible.

We've booked Iceland, Greenland and Canada on Ambassador Ambience in September.

That sounded crazy in the circumstances. What happens to anyone who fails to get tested? Or do they hunt you down and escort you there?

Pleased you tested negative.

Thank you for the blog and photos. It's been both lovely to read and very informative.

Hi

Many thanks for your CCblog, , just found it now

My mum aged 85 is on the same cruise now, her first!

We we’re hoping she would have a great time but think she is struggling.

Unlike yourself her media and tech skills are zero!

I believe she has joined Ukelele  class which sounds hilarious.

She is in cabin D035 and her name is Mollie

If your paths cross please tell her we are all thinking about her.

You definitely  sound like a glass half full person and seem to be making the most of it.

Hope you continue to have a good time

Vicki
